Kieri Solutions helps businesses stay on top of major device updates and tech refresh cycles.
Getting help with these projects reduces the burden on your IT department. Adding a major tech refresh project to an already-busy staff is unfair, and it doesn’t make business sense to hire more technicians for short-term work. It is also safer for your operations to get us involved – each of these projects can cause major disruption to your business if done wrong. We perform risky work at nights and on weekends to reduce chances of impacting your users, with plenty of planning and testing before and after each upgrade.
Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2016 migrations
Windows Server 2008 R2 is end-of-support this year. This means Microsoft will no longer release security patches or help if your server crashes. We are performing several projects to upgrade business servers from 2008 R2 to 2016 and even 2019. We also upgrade other Microsoft servers such as Exchange 2010 to 2016, Microsoft SQL databases, and SharePoint.
VMware vCenter and vSphere 5.5 to 6.7 upgrades
VMware version 5.5 is no longer supported as of late 2018. This means VMware no longer releases security patches or compatibility fixes for the product. We wrote a top-rated blog post about how to upgrade vCenter and VMware, which is referenced by 300+ administrators each week. Since we’ve been doing this work for many clients, we know how to avoid problems and complete the work efficiently.
Storage Area Network (SAN) operating system upgrades. Netapp, Dell EMC, HP 3PAR, FreeNAS, and Synology.
SANs hold the data for your servers. They are normally the most critical piece of a company’s infrastructure, causing a severe outage for the company if they go down. We specialize in SAN systems and know how their components work, such as the Service Processor, node administration, and volume setup. We also know how SANs are integrated with other servers – such as datastores in VMware, or iSCSI connections on Windows servers. This lets us plan holistic solutions for your entire environment, not just the SAN.
Firmware and patches for appliances
Don’t forget that your physical servers and network devices need firmware updates too. This category includes server firmware, Integrated Lights-Out, firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points, and a host of network-connected equipment like cameras, printers, and scanners. The patch cycle for these are typically once a year or less.
